Welcome to the new Learning in Retirement Blog: We will use this forum as one of two to convey LIR information, Cancelled/Changed classes, and New classes not announced. The other forum will be a LIR e-mail data base of those members who have provided an e-mail address. Comments and/or recommendations on LIR buisness is recommended and encouraged. We hope these two forums will help in getting information out rapidly and accurately.
Added Classes:
1. An additional File Management Class will be conducted(Again at no extra charge) on 3 Thursdays Sept 27, Oct 4, and Oct 11 from 2:30-3:30 taught by Debbie Seko. Those persons who were on the waiting list from registration need to check with the office and confirm you are going to attend Phone 245-6484. Those personnel who did not sign up and would like to see if there is room in the class for you need to call in and check.
2. The Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) from VSU School of Buisness will be staffing a Computer Help Session/Open Computer Lab on each Monday from 10:00- 12:00 until the end of our Fall Term. We owe them a big THANKS for helping us out. Anyone who would like computer questions answered, extra help with LIR Class projects, or just some time to work on the computer are welcome. No registration is required for current LIR members.
Classes cancelled:
"The Other China" class scheduled to start Sept 24 Is going to be cancelled and all classes rescheduled in the Winter Term. This is due to the sudden illness of Dr. Louis Schmier. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
Class Changes:
Intermediate Bridge- The class scheduled on 2 Oct will be postponed. An additional class on Oct 23 will be added to make it up. Our instructor has a prior commitment to celebrate his Mothers' birthday. Wish her Happy birthday for us Dan.
Remainder: You still have time to sign up for the "Columbus Day Ice Cream Social", but you must register with the office.
